What are Reconstruction Sessions?
In modern vocabulary, there are many people who would say they are either going through or have gone through a “deconstruction” phase. This usually means that some event was the catalyst and started a phase of questioning all their previous beliefs and structures and vocabularies by which they understood their faith.
A season of deconstruction can be painful, lonely, and with a certain form of cynicism or distrust for spiritual leadership and education that they feel failed them.
However, there is no need to burn it all and walk away.
For some, the better way forward is to go back to the roots of ancient and authentic Christianity, and to untangle that form of the faith from the distortions that conventionally define it today.
As someone who has gone through a painful deconstruction phase from about 2012-2015, it was by deeply engaging the early Church mothers and fathers, the desert monastics, and the Christian mystics as a whole that helped me to reclaim my faith and be able to say that I am still a Christian after all these years with integrity.
I’d love to help you get on to the work of reconstructing your faith. Sign up for a Reconstruction Session over Zoom below.
