Over the years, I have working in many settings such as churches, prisons, at the collegiate or graduate level, at camps, and even for businesses. Much of my work falls under the umbrella of being an educator, pastor, and mentor. I have been hired by denominations, ministry groups, individual churches or businesses, and other places to come and share about human growth, transformation, healthy systems, the dynamism of faith, and so much more…

And I love doing it all. I honestly feel as though the offerings below are my personal vocation, and I believe these things allow me to do “ministry” in a post-traditional way that matches my identity and integrity.

Coach/Business Consulting

Over the past few years, I have been hired by senior pastors and business owners to lead a series of seminars for staff on workplace culture, conflict resolution, circular leadership, extreme ownership, caring & listening skills, doing appreciative inquiry, and more. In church settings, this includes preaching once a month; in business settings, it can also mean serving as a chaplain to each staff member. Most often, this can happen during a transition or a pastoral emergency in the church or business, but not limited to.

Wilderness Backpacking Trips

In 2015, I hiked the entire Appalachian Trail and inadvertently became something of a chaplain to those I met. Since then, I enjoy taking groups of people out on backpacking weekends to talk about the deeper things of life, faith, doubt, theology, spirituality, relapse, divorce, etc. I would love to be a speaker/chaplain/guide for your group for a weekend if you are near the NJ/PA/DE/NYC area.

Weekend Retreats

Now that COVID is more behind us, churches and groups are getting back to doing weekend retreats together at different locations. I have spoken at or hosted 100+ retreats and now offer speaking engagements for the weekend, including four talks and a Q&A session.

Seminars or Day Retreats

Hire me to come in for a one-day seminar or retreat with your group or staff. We can talk about any one of the topics you find on this website that is within my wheelhouse, or address a topic that you believe would be good for your group or staff.

Pulpit Supply

Hire me to come preach one Sunday morning at your Church about any topic that you know I specialize in, that you know would be good for your community to hear, or if you need a Sunday morning filled.

Finding Your Way

For three 1-hour sessions, we can work together to address a particular issue/topic in your life right now that is getting you stuck or lost. Between sessions, I will do further research into the Hebrew or Greek of the Scriptures, look through Church history for wisdom, and find ways to integrate it with modern studies/fields of study to help you find your way.

Dark Night of the Soul

A Dark Night of the Soul is a faith experience that is easily misunderstood. There might be a season during which community, bible study, worship, the music, and perhaps even the doing of ministry itself has lost all of it’s “sweetness” and tastes like ash on the tongue. In reality, this is not a loss of faith, but the purification and maturation of it. In this one-off session, we can talk through the wisdom of St. John of the Cross and his famous poem to help you navigate your Dark Night of the Soul.

Cost: $80

Spiritual Direction

This is the ancient practice of sitting with someone who can help you give witness to your own life, and be an extra set of eyes and ears for you to discern what invitation Spirit has for you. Our goal in this one-off session is to help you figure out “what is the next, right step” for you.

Reconstruction Sessions

The buzz word of the day is “deconstruction.” For many people, their understanding of the faith is crumbling in light of the social and/or global issues of the day, doubts are creeping in, and some are discovering that the Christianity they were handed was simply not the best. In these one-off sessions, we can give appropriate lament to what disappointed us and brought us to deconstruct, and then work together to reconstruct faith in a way that is more robust, grounded, wild, wise, and wonderful.
